The Will of God

How do we discover the will of God for our lives?  It is my belief that God has a plan and a purpose for everyone.  I believe that this plan is foreordained, but that somehow, human will is still free to choose the course that our lives will take in life.  My desire is to do God’s will in my life, but what is that will?

First, we need to familiarize ourselves with the Bible.  God’s will for our lives will not go against his revealed word, so we can know some things that we are to do, and somethings that we are not to do.  For example, we are to love one another, and we are to give thanks to God.  We are not to lie, steal, or commit murder.  What is revealed in the Bible could be termed God’s permissible will.  I think that we can do better than just what is permissible.

I believe that God will guide us if we use the tools that he has given to us.  He has given us the Bible, our brains, councilors,, and most importantlyl his Spirit.

I believe that it is appropriate to use the brains that God has given us to evaluate situations; that in many cases God has given us the wisdom to recognize right from wrong, and good from bad decisions.

God also has given us the opportunity to seek godly council.  In making important decisions, it is good to get advice from people who have specialized knowledge.

Finally, God has given us his Holy Spirit.  If we pray and ask God to guide us in our decisions, I believe that he will do so.  God can use a variety of means to lead us in the path that he has for us.  If we week to do his will, he will reveal his will to us.

As of today,God has not given you yet the Holy Spirit, cause if you already had one, you will not gonna use the title Pastor.
And that is what I’m going to ask you : Why are you so fond of using the word Pastor? Will that remind you always that you are one, cause you are not so sure that you are a pastor ?Why not be contend with the word Brother ?Are you trying to replace Jesus Christ?

    Just asking !

    • Pastor Curt Says:

I believe that I received the Holy Spirit when I asked Christ into my heart, which I did as a child. I do not see the connection between my use of the title “pastor” and the infilling of the Spirit.

I use the title because I have been called, trained, and serve, as a pastor of a church of Jesus Christ.
If someone wished to call me Brother Curt instead of Pastor Curt I would be fine with that. In fact many people refer to me simply as Curt, with no title. For purposes of this blog, and other blogs where I might comment, it seems appropriate to use the title because it is a part of who I am in Christ.

I could never replace Christ, but I, and other believers, do serve in this world on His behalf.

  2. dove124 Says:

Since you claim that you received the Holy Spirit, I will now test that spirit of yours. For it was written :”Prove all things”(I Thess. 5:21) and also “BELIEVE NOT every spirit, BUT TRY the spirits whether they are of God : because many false prophets are gone out into the world”(I John 4:1)
    # Where was God before He created the Heaven , and the heaven of heavens and the earth?
    # What the meaning of Holy Kiss?
    # To whom the New testament was old, and the Old Testament New ?
Supply your answers by verses in the bible.

Re: But I, and other believers, do serve in this world on His behalf.
If all of you are serving on His behalf, then all of you are Pastors? Who will then will you be a pastor to? if all of you are pastors ? It does not make any sense!
    Understand the verse carefully:
“For NOT he that commended himself is approved, but whom the Lord commended” (2 Cor. 10:18)
So you see, when God call people, it does not necessarily mean that they call them to become a pastors. When HE calls you, He wants you to SEEK HIS Kingdom and His righteousness ,(Matthew 6:33) that you may dwell in His courts.(Psalms 65:4)
Question again: What is His courts?

And do not become one of those people who call themselves Pastors, and saying they were sent by God.
For God had said : I have NOT sent this prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken unto them, yet they prophesied(Jeremiah 23:21)

It is not appropriate for any one to call themselves Pastor. It will only show how ignorant they are about the word of God. No one can replace Christ nor represent on behalf of Christ. For Christ will be with His brethren always, even up to the end of the world.(Matthew 28:20)

  3. dove124 Says:

Have you NOT FOUND YET the answers?
See ? …Claiming to have a Holy Spirit is one thing, PROVING is another thing. You should have known that saying.

Let me remind you of what is one the function of The Holy Spirit.
    # The Holy Spirit SHALL TEACH all things,…(John 14:26)

Therefore, since you have not yet found the answers, the Holy Spirit did not give or shown to you the answers, and if was not given to you, the totality of the matter is that , you do not posses a Holy Spirit. That is just a simple as that.
So, my friendly advise to you is, LEAVE the preaching to those who are sent by God. And also, get away as far as you can , from those who trained you, for they are blind leaders and ignoramus of the words of God.
And if you will, I will show you another WAY, The OLD PATHS, where the GOOD WAY is. And I will point you on how to get there.
    Understand the verse carefully :

    Thus says the Lord :

“STAND in the ways and SEE,
And ASK for the old paths,
    where the good way is,
    And WALK in it :
Then you will FIND rest for your souls”
    (Jeremiah 6:16)

You want me to show you and guide you to that path? or will you rather reject that path, and be one of those who said “We will NOT WALK in it” (Jeremiah 6:16)

What will it be? ….The choice is yours. !

If any man WILL DO His will, he shall know of the DOCTRINE, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.
He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory : But he that seeketh His glory that sent him, the same is true, and NO UNRIGHTEOUSNESS is in him. (John 7:17-18)KJV

    • Pastor Curt Says:

Who are you to judge another’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls. Indeed, he will be made to stand, for God is able to make him stand. Rom 14:4

  4. dove124 Says:

Have you not read, Matthew 12:37?
“For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemn”.
I did not judge you ! You are the one who put yourself in that situation.
Claiming to the world that you have a Holy Spirit, but in reality, you don’t have any spirit in you ,except what God had given to you since birth.
And another worst thing of them all, is calling yourself “Pastor”. Are you not ashamed of yourself?
    # The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I SENT THEM NOT, neither have I commanded them, neither SPAKE UNTO THEM.(Jeremiah 14:14)
    # I have NOT SENT these prophets, YET THEY RAN : I have NOT SPOKEN to them, YET THE PROPHESIED.(Jeremiah 23::21)

Are you not been taught by your so-called teachers about this one thing?
” For NOT he that COMMENDETH himself IS APPROVED, but WHOM THE LORD COMMENDETH” (2 Cor. 10:18)

So now , ASK YOURSELF, do you REALLY think that God will sent A MORON to preach HIS GOSPEL to the world? The bible nor I, don’t think so ! For what shall he teach? his ignorance?

PONDER to these words, for the sake of those people to whom you will teach the Gospel.

In this point in time, an spiritual person can already perceived an spiritual man.
And if he cannot perceived it YET…..I’m very sorry for that man.

  5. dove124 Says:

But, are you gonna wait for that day, wherein you will not have a chance anymore to say” I’m sorry God, I did not know it, rest assure that I will not do it again?”

    TODAY, is your chance.
“Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is NO WORK, NOR DEVICE, NOR KNOWLEDGE, NOR WISDOM, in the grave, whither thou goest” (Eccl.9:10)

“Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth not, to him it is sin”(James 4:17)

So, ponder on your church doctrines. Are they Biblical ? Or they are just doctrines created by those who founded your church for “FILTHY LUCRE’S SAKE?”(Titus 1:11)
And also ask yourself, if our church is true, and our doctrine is infallable, “WHY CAN’T I ANSWERS THOSE QUESTIONS RAISED TO ME, by dove124?” Is it because I don’t have the Spirit of God in me, as what I claim to have? cause if I had that Spirit, THEN THAT SPIRIT WILL BE THE ONE WHO WILL TEACH ME, not my bosses in our church.

    Remember this one thing:
If it is really God the Father who is calling you, then you must approach HIM in the place where HE is calling you from. But the problem is, you seems to had been lost along the way. That’s why you ended in that church of yours.
But if you will, I will point you to the right direction, and right location wherein you will practice righteousness, according to the will of the Father, in Christ Jesus. And if you still doubted my words, then I will reasons with you. And I will take the side of the Lord.As the Lord had said: “COME NOW and, LET US REASON TOGETHER”(Isaiah 1:18) (about your doctrines and teachings)

    and also:

“Put me in remembrance : LET US PLEAD TOGETHER : declare thou, that thou mayest be justified” (Isaiah 43:26)

    What shall it be?

    • Pastor Curt Says:

You said earlier “No one can replace Christ nor represent on behalf of Christ.”.

Now you say ” then I will reasons with you. And I will take the side of the Lord. As the Lord had said: “COME NOW and, LET US REASON TOGETHER”(Isaiah 1:18) (about your doctrines and teachings)”

      Do you see the contradiction?

I have not responded to your earlier questions because I have many demands on my time. A detailed response would be time-consuming. The questions that you ask as “proof” of my receiving the Holy Spirit are questions that I have never heard anyone ask before, nor have I considered them. ( I wonder if you practice a form of gnosticism?)

“Remind them of these things, charging them before the Lord not to strive about words to no profit, to the ruin of the hearers. Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and idle babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness.” II Tim 2:14-16

I will one day face the judgment of God, but I will not continue this discussion with you. Any future comments will not be
