Battling Misconceptions

As I roam around cyberspace, I read some things that disturb me.  There are sites that imply that Christians are stupid, violence prone, hate filled homophobes.  When I come across these sites (usually from my tag surfer)  I will sometimes make comments.  My goal is not so much to convert these individuals to Christianity, (although that would be wonderful)  but rather to combat the misconceptions that swirl around in our society.  I am not sure how much difference one voice can make,  but I will continue to “whisper in the wind”.   I also know that I am not alone, that the people of God are everywhere, if each one of us will do what we can to have an impact for God, we will be amazed at what God can do through us as we seek to spread the wonderful news of the love of God for all the world.

I too have found it to be disturbing. The big thing that I have noticed is how very angry some people are. Although I am reminded that the Bible does say that there will be those who will hate us because they hate Christ. (my paraphrase) I have also noticed that some (quite a few actually) may be adult in age but are truly school yard -playground childish in conversation. I have found some positive upbeat sites and that is fun!!
